WCIRM Graduate Studies
Graduate StudiesThe WCIRM Master of Agriculture Program provides students with a unique graduate experience:
Typical WCIRM students include existing land-based managers (i.e. ranch managers, wildlife and forest managers, extension agents, etc.) and recent graduates of undergraduate programs. By using the two week intensive format, students complete the coursework within two long semesters, fall and spring. For the individual who is not a traditional full-time student, there is some flexibility within the program, but the course schedule is pretty solid once it's set, and even part-time students need to be available for the entire session of each course. Typical employment opportunities for people who complete our program include:

In addition to formal course work, WCIRM students are expected to participate in a minimum of one, preferably two, internships. By design, the coursework has a winter break, which allows ample opportunity for a 3- to 4-week internship. Following completion of coursework in the spring, there is again the opportunity for an internship. The WCIRM faculty feels it is vital for the student to gain some “on the ground” training and real world application of the principles learned through the coursework. The internships also will provide valuable work experience to enhance employment opportunities after completion of the program. The Western Center for Integrated Resource Management has been deemed a unique program for the western United States (WICHE), and we participate in this exclusive program that provides in-state tuition rates to students who reside in one of the participating western states.
